Cono Group, the leader company in chickpeas exportation, held an event at the Obispo Trejo train station, which was attended by the company's governing body: Messrs. Andres and Thomas Braun, along with managers and employees from all areas. Also present were the Obispo Trejo's mayor, Silbia Mansilla, as well as the municipal and provincial authorities of Córdoba, customers, suppliers, exporters, and the general public.

El evento contó además con la presencia de la Intendenta de Obispo Trejo Silbia Mansilla, Marcos Blanda -Secretario de Agricultura de la Provincia de Córdoba, Pablo Martinez – Presidente de la Sociedad Rural de Jesús María, Sergio de Zan junto a Franco Visintini de Aduana Córdoba, el Legistador Provincial por Departamento Rio Primero Juan Jose Blangino, Luis Dávila – Gerente Comercial Terminal Zárate, Florencia Molina  Virginia de la Torre de SENANA, socios del cluster, personalidades del municipio, de la provincia y por supuesto clientes, proveedores, exportadores y vecinos. 

For employees to prosper and fulfill themselves in all spheres, Cono Group launched a program so that employees from the plant can complete their elementary and secondary studies.

Starting in April, we welcome groups of students interested in touring the facilities of our processing plant located in Chalacea, Córdoba.

Since mid-2020 we have been developing in the city of Obispo Trejo, Córdoba a Logistics Hub with rail shipments, which connects Córdoba with the port of Zarate and the rest of the world.

We are proud to announce that we have achieved the BRC Global Standard for Food Safety Certification. For the sixth consecutive year we have renewed our commitment, and this year Cono Group has achieved AA grade in BRC food safety.

The Communication on Progress (COP) report follows the company’s commitment in 2020 to support the ten principles of the United Nations Global Compact on human rights, labour, environment, and anti-corruption.

Cono initiative revives the fortunes of forgotten branch line.

A provincial branch line in the center of Argentina that was out of service since the 1970s is playing a key role in transporting Cono Group pulses to customers around the world –and underlines the company’s commitment to sustainability.  

At Cono, preserving our natural resources is essential, which is why the production of our crops is always geared towards sustainability. We want to ensure our soil stays healthy and fertile in the long term so managing soil carbon levels is particularly important.

We thought it was time for a change, so we’ve given our website a makeover and the Cono logo a facelift. It’s not simply change for change’s sake, however. Our business has evolved over the past four decades, but especially in the last few years. In that time, we’ve greatly expanded our product range and our service offerings to clients in Argentina and in the 50 countries where we do business. We wanted the website and logo to reflect the modern identity of the company and our new market presence.

Cono has been working with nonprofit organisations in Argentina to help address food shortages and health and safety needs during the COVID-19 pandemic. So far this year, we’ve donated more than 1 million food rations, including chickpeas, beans and corn to alleviate food shortages in Cordoba and Buenos Aires and help support vulnerable children and their families.
